Facilitating Groups - 4 x 3 Hour Sessions

What's it all about?

Let's make one thing clear straight away: this is not a "train the trainer" course.
Group facilitation is a process where a neutral party - the facilitator - works to help a group improve how it identifies and solves problems and how it makes decisions in order to better achieve its intended goals.

Group facilitation skills might come in handy in the following situations: focus groups, team meetings, annual conferences (and yes, training sessions, just not the "teaching new skills and transferring knowledge" bits!). Essentially, anywhere groups need a hand getting on with their discussions productively.

Who is it for?

This is the package for you if you need to be that neutral party guiding a group discussion (trainers are most welcome!).

  • Establishing Aims - defining the goals of the group

  • Creating the Covenant - overcoming counter-productive group culture

  • Getting them talking - Tools for stimulating group discussion

  • Harvesting the fruit - tools for idea generation

  • Sorting the yield - tools for decision making
